A Queenly Window

It's almost time to celebrate the Queen's Jubilee so I have put together a special window display using a vintage mannequin and a few bits and pieces including newspaper which I  made into union jack patterned butterflies. I also printed on to newspaper a stencil of the Queen. I hope you like it.!

Fenwick's of York Meets Hat Therapy

Last Saturday I went to York as Fenwick's department store had invited me to take a selection of my work to show to the public as they were hosting a Race day / wedding event for the weekend.
It was a very busy Saturday and I had sales and orders which was wonderful. As you can see I was set up near the downstairs cards, gifts, accessories and Fitflots.! Here's a few pic's of the hats I took with me and my table. It was a great day and I met some really lovely people.

Weekend Hats

Just in time for the weekend I've made a couple of cotton/ linen pull on hats. Both have a lovely mother of pearl trim one is a vintage buckle the other an oval button from Liberty's in London. My favourite shop I think, well one of them and it still has a great haberdashery.
The fabric is textured and although it is fine it makes up into a great hat.(with a little persuasion)

Headband Heaven

Yesterday the latest British independent showcase of designers making a whole host of products to delight was launched, and I was part of the first twenty five people to join.
You will find my own  (Sweet Shop delights by Hat Therapy) and all the other wonderful shops on www.whatialwayswanted.com
I have made a selection of lovely headbands in various fabrics and trims to use on a daily basis or more particular moments. There's even a couple which a bride could wear, the combinations of colours and  fabrics are endless so keep popping back to see which new ones have appeared.  So far two have sold already so I had better get a few more made. I have a list of old fashioned sweets mainly from Britain so I'm sure you will spot one of your favourites soon.!
Makes my mouth water when I name them.
